Preschool Summer Camp – Don’t Pay. Get Paid!

Would you love to know how to start a preschool summer camp in your area and make money this summer?

I take a break from teaching preschool in the summertime, but love to do a summer camp or two to keep my children busy and to provide an extra income during the summer. And because I already know how to teach children – I figure the best way to do a preschool summer camp is not to PAY for one for my 3 children, but instead to get PAID for running a summer camp! Talk about the best of both worlds, right?

I advertise to the preschool parents during Springtime and usually fill up a few camps. (I teach only (3) 1-week camps during the entire summer in June/July/August.) The rates for summer camps vary by location, of course, but in my area the rate is usually around $3/hr. per child. I run my camp from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. M-F. And because I know that families love summer camps, I make sure that I allow children ages 3-8 to come to my camp.

Can you imagine how many people want to put their children into a summer camp in your area? And can you also imagine how many of those people would be absolutely THRILLED that such a place was open right down the street from them!?! They would be flocking to your door to sign up all their kiddos to give themselves some much needed “Mom Time” during the hectic summer.

Starting a summer camp is as easy as passing around flyers in your neighborhood, and selecting a fun theme for your summer camp. Try these fun ones: It’s a Bug’s Life, Princesses & Superheroes, Rocks and Twigs, Out of This World, and Food From Around the World. Have parents pay a one-time registration fee to reserve their child’s spot, and use the registration fees to purchase arts & crafts materials or anything else you need.  Then have a blast with your children while making money!
