(My Spanish Corner) Teach Spanish Without Knowing Spanish – with Ana Yavorsky

You can charge premium tuition by adding value to your preschool, and what better way to offer “more than just preschool” but by offering a Spanish curriculum into your classes! If you’re thinking, “But wait, Joy, I don’t speak Spanish!” Then you’re in luck because today we’ll teach you how to add Spanish into your preschool even if you’ve never taught it or spoken it in your life!

My guest today is the amazing Ana Yavorsky. She started her own preschool back in 2019 and ran it locally for a year before COVID. When she moved online, a whole new world opened and now she’s able to teach hundreds of students with her Spanish curriculum. In fact, she even created a Spanish curriculum for adults!

I met Ana when she messaged me with a great idea. Not many people show up to serve but she did. She shared her eight-week Spanish curriculum for all my Preschool All Stars, completely free to use. The comments have been amazing and we’re so happy to get the opportunity to add so much value to our preschools.

Today Ana explains her curriculum and teaches you how to teach Spanish even if you don’t speak it at all. Tune in to learn more!

How & Why Ana Developed Her Now-Famous Curriculum

After COVID hit, Ana had to reinvent her programs and find a way to reach students in other preschools without actually going there. She still wanted to serve all those families. The only way was to bring everything online and share it with preschool owners everywhere!

This program is a way for her to multiply what she does in her preschool. Not many preschools offer a second language, and Ana believes that the best time to teach children is when they are of preschool age.

In fact, the perfect time to teach kids a second language is from when they’re babies up to six years old. Everything is absorbed more easily and directly through music, play, crafts, activities. They just get the information without effort.

This Is How You Teach Spanish Even if You Don’t Speak It Yourself

So, what’s the secret? Well, Ana designed her curriculum so that teachers can learn along with the kids. In all her videos, she uses English, Spanish, signing, visuals, different activities. The themes are the same, so it’s easy for both kids and teachers to pick up on the meaning.

In essence, Ana is the bridge between English and Spanish, providing support to teachers as they work with their kiddos.

All you have to do is put on the video of Ana teaching Spanish and all of a sudden you’ve added that Spanish curriculum into your program! Needless to say, that adds massive value to your preschool. You’ve got the premier Spanish teacher at the click of a button, with a great nine-month curriculum.

What’s more, you can incorporate the Spanish curriculum into your circle time and other preschool activities!

What Are the Benefits of Children Growing up Bilingual

There are untold numbers of benefits for kids who learn a second language. First off, learning a new language alongside your mother tongue increases neuroplasticity. This helps kids learn other things faster. Down the line, acquiring a third or fourth language will also be much easier.

Children can also bring communities together and learn tolerance from an early age. When they grow up, they will have more job opportunities, and different avenues will open for them. Not including everything else, they can become translators at the very least.

Teaching kids a second language means giving them a skill that makes them more flexible and more curious. This is a skill they can use throughout their entire lives!

How to Develop the Confidence to Teach This Curriculum

Ana offers two Spanish programs: one for families and the other for preschool owners. She sees this offer as a contribution to the overall mission of preschool moms: you get to develop, learn, make an income, and still stay with your kids.

The preschool journey can strengthen all your talents. You grow as you work. Ana learned everything by herself, but today she wants to help moms find their path a little bit easier. She thinks confidence comes from just trying new things. Every time you fail, you also learn. The key is to keep doing what you love and keep learning.
