Homeschool Your Own Kids While You Start a Preschool – with Kendra Weiss

If you want to homeschool your own kids while still making an income, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Kendra Weiss is a mom of 3 who has spent the last 5 years running a daycare out of her home. But once covid hit, it made it hard to watch her daycare kids and help her own distance learners. After Kendra and her husband made the decision to homeschool all 3 kids full time, she knew she needed a change from her normal daycare schedule. Listen in to discover how you can homeschool your kids and run a preschool, too!

Kendra Weiss has run a successful daycare out of her home for the past 5 years, and was pretty content with the situation. But once Covid hit, she found it really hard to keep up with her daycare responsibilities while also having her own children home from school. How could she give them the attention they needed to thrive in their new distance learning set up?

Before finding Joy’s program, she didn’t even think it was possible to only have preschool age kids and run on a half day schedule. She had been in the daycare mindset for so long that she wasn’t sure she could find families to fill a preschool program, but she decided to take a leap of faith.

With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Kendra is well on her way to making the transition from daycare to preschool. She loves the ideas and support she receives in the group. With their help she has been able to implement her transition plan from daycare to preschool, and make her dream of homeschooling all of her kids a reality.

Kendra decided to wait until her current kids age out of her program to make her transition. She has built a special bond with her current kids, and she wants to be there for them until they go to school. She already has her transition plan well under way, though. She has informed her current families of her plan, and has started marketing as a half day preschool instead of full day daycare. She is so excited to finally be able to give her own kids the attention they deserve, while making a steady income for her family.
