But like most teachers these days, she was feeling burnt out. She already had a sensory bin business, but was working in a daycare to supplement her income. The last straw was her job demanding she come into work and bring her sick child with her. She was done feeling unappreciated and working for someone who expected her to put her job ahead of her children. She decided to branch out on her own, and combine her existing business into her new preschool! Listen in to discover how you can incorporate your side gig into your preschool, too!
Terri Johnson already had a sensory bin subscription business that she had built on her own. But she still needed a job to supplement that income. She was tired of feeling like just a number to her employer, and being forced to put her job ahead of her own children! After quitting her last daycare job, she couldn’t find a new daycare for her own children to attend while she worked.
Terri had seen Joy’s ads everywhere, but never really paid attention to them until she herself was looking for an alternative to the usual daycare model. She finally decided to get her book and realized that this is the answer to her dilemma!
With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Terri has been able to incorporate her sensory bin business into her new preschool business, and now both businesses are taking off! She was able to get new ideas from her “Sistars,” and Motivation Mondays have been invaluable to changing her mindset and putting her in a more positive place. She has made some really close friendships that have helped her so much along this journey.
Terri is working on marketing for her new online preschool. She is getting her fundraiser set up so she can offer her classes to more students. She hopes to expand her program to more kids, and empower more families to teach their children with confidence.
