(Active Kids 2.0) Fun Preschool Fitness – with Larissa Maloney

If you want your preschoolers to be more active and live a healthy lifestyle, then join us today because we’re going to show you a fun way to help your children and students get excited about becoming more active!

    Fusing Fitness Into Fun

When Larissa’s school suddenly informs her that they were having virtual classes when the pandemic struck, she was confused about making fitness class work. How can kids ever engage in fitness lessons when they can’t be together?

But then she had a brilliant idea – she did fitness classes live on Youtube for her students and it all started there! What she did at first for better interaction turned into a routine not only for the kids, but also for their parents and grandparents. They all loved her workout videos, and they kept asking for more.

    An Unexpected Hit

By the time Larissa had made more videos, she had begun to notice that more and more people were watching. She only checked how many people watched for her student’s attendance. Later on, she was amazed at how twenty viewers turned to thousands real quick!

The more exciting part? She was not planning to do it for as long as she thought she would. When it was time to stop, her avid viewers begged her to keep going. And that’s exactly what she did.

    The Importance of Fun

What makes Larissa’s workout videos very different from others? Aside from the fact that it’s specifically tailored to the students’ needs, they also are lots of fun! Larissa points out how crucial it is to ensure that the children enjoy their activities to become much more effective and easier to retain.

She does not only do fun fitness workouts, but she also incorporates this little secret during playtime with her own kids. She remembers making “trailing” more fun by calling it a “dinosaur expedition” instead. This approach is doable and easy – there’s no reason why we cannot do the same.
