If you want to create an online Reggio Emilia preschool, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Stephanie Hengelbrok has spent years teaching Montessori and Reggio Emilia, and wasn’t so sure how those philosophies would translate to a virtual classroom setting when they had to go online in 2020. To her surprise, she absolutely loved teaching online and wanted to continue, even when her school went back to the classroom. That is when she decided to resign and open her own online preschool. She now teaches kids from 7 countries! Listen in to discover how you can create an online Reggio Emilia preschool, too!
Stephanie has taught the Montessori and Reggio Emilia method to preschoolers, but when the world had to make the move to virtual learning, she was worried that it wouldn’t translate to an online platform. Much to her surprise, she absolutely loved it, and struggled with returning to the typical brick and mortar classroom.
Stephanie went on a search for how she could continue her online teaching, and up popped Joy! She joined The Preschool All Stars, enlisted her family to help with her social media platforms and soon, she had parents contacting her from all over the world.
Stephanie says that having Joy and The Preschool All Stars in her corner has been instrumental in her success. Their motivation, and encouragement have given her the strength to push past any insecurities she had. One of the Preschool All Stars even helped her build a website from scratch, so she could feel that she was representing her philosophy truthfully and beautifully.
Stephanie currently teaches one on one sessions. But she will be looking to expand her classes. Eventually, she wants to create a full time preschool program that will include music, mindfulness, and other classes taught by other instructors. They may even open it up to older children in the future. The possibilities are endless and Stephanie feels so grateful to have jumped into this amazing opportunity.
