    Finally Going for Her Dream

    Heather Hauser taught at her kid’s preschool, and she had dreams to start her own preschool one day so she could be her own boss and take control of her career. But once Covid hit, she wasn’t sure if her dream would be possible.

    After attending Joy’s summit, she knew that her own preschool was exactly what she wanted. She even got a building, but she was concerned that she could fill enough preschool spots at the height of the pandemic to pay the rent on the new building she had just procured. 

    Necessity Breeds Innovation: How Heather Came Up With an Amazing Idea in a Crisis

    With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Heather came up with the idea to branch out to Kindergarteners too. And once she found out her kids would not be returning to in-person schooling, that gave her the idea to make homeschool pods for kids all the way up to 5th grade.

    Heather made lemonade out of what could have been a very sour batch of lemons. After contacting parents from her kid’s school, she was able to fill up her homeschool groups and is able to do more than just pay the rent on her new building. She doesn’t know whether she will keep this model, or return to just pre-k and kinder classes after the pandemic is over, but she has set herself up for success by quickly identifying what was lacking in her community, and now she can fill that void with her innovative program.
