(PAS) Create a Private School When You Start a Preschool – with Sherry Stavig

If you want to create a private school, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Sherry Stavig struggled to find the right business that matched her business degree and entrepreneurial spirit. When she realized that she needed to stay home with her family, starting a preschool sounded perfect. After tweaking the model a bit to meet the needs of her community, she created a private school that taught 2-year-olds through grade 6. Listen in to discover how you can create a private school, too!

Sherry Stavig has always been an entrepreneur. She majored in business and had started multiple businesses with her partner, even though none of them had worked out in the long term. One day, after a discouraging remark from her kids about not being around enough, she decided she needed to come up with a business that would allow her to be home and involved in family matters, while also providing a much needed service to the community.

Sherry found Joy and decided that starting a school was the perfect solution, but she needed to make it her own to suit the needs of her community. After a lot of changes along the way, she decided on a private school. She now serves ages 2 through grade six in a private school/homeschool hybrid situation by offering before- and after-school care as well as all day schooling.

Preschool All Stars gave Sherry the jump start she needed when she had to change courses multiple times. She was able to adapt her ideas and create a program that is unique and thriving because of the encouragement and help from Preschool All Stars. Seeing how other women adapted to the changing times and overcame adversities in their own journeys gave Sherry the confidence to keep going on her own path.

Sherry now has a thriving school with multiple employees and is able to work out of her own home. She has a school-age room and a preschool room and has big plans to expand to other locations across town. She has found her niche with this business and plans to continue and expand her ideas to create something truly unique in her city.
