If you want to stop babysitting and start a preschool, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Shanice Rogers was a mom who wanted to stay home with her child, but also needed to make an income. She had owned an in-home daycare in the past, and had spent years babysitting, but was not happy with the work she was doing, and wanted more flexibility and more time with her family. Listen in to discover how you can stop babysitting and start a preschool, too!
Shanice Rogers had spent years working with kids in one capacity or another. She had continued her mother’s work as an in-home daycare Owner, she had taught the preschool classes at her church, and she had babysat for many different families throughout the years. But she hated the long hours, and wanted to be able to homeschool her own daughter without being too exhausted to give her the attention she deserved. She found Joy and the Preschool All Stars, but was skeptical of what they could offer her, and didn’t feel she had the right space to start her own preschool.
After moving into a new house, Shanice decided that it was now or never. She tried the online preschool route, and it just wasn’t for her. Shanice wanted to make a local preschool program, but was still lacking the confidence to make it happen on her own. She had seen the stories of other women in the Preschool All Stars, and she had listened to Joy talk about the steps to starting a preschool, but was it really possible for her to do this herself?
She reluctantly joined the Preschool All Stars, and was immediately blown away by what she encountered. She now had her own network of women, who were on the exact same path as she was, and who held a wealth of knowledge to pass on to newbies like her. She spent every day asking questions and soaking up all the information that she could, and then she decided to just go for it.
Shanice took the plunge and has opened her own preschool! Starting with just a poster on the wall, she has transformed her space into the preschool she always wanted. She is working on growing her program, adding more classes and more students, and now has the confidence in herself she wished she had had years ago. As her daughter enters Kindergarten, she is considering opening up her program to add a Kindergarten class as well!
