She didn’t have the space to open a local preschool, so she didn’t think that was an option for her. Then she found Joy’s book and everything changed. Shamia Wilcox has always had a passion for early childhood education. She has taught infants to preschoolers, and even wrote her own children’s book! She was getting her undergrad when she found Joy’s book and read about starting an online preschool.
Shamia decided to join one of Joy’s challenges to start an online preschool. She worked up the courage to post her founding family script, and filled her class right away!!
Joy and the Preschool All Stars have given Shamia a community to grow with. She is in awe of the love and support she feels from the other ladies in the group. She can always go to the group with any questions or concerns she has, and always receives answers and encouragement.
Shamia’s online preschool focuses on art and Spanish. She wants to teach her online class while she continues her own education. After Shamia finishes her undergrad, she plans to go on to get her graduate degree in teaching and special education. She has big plans to open a local preschool that caters to special needs students because she knows there is a need in her area for a special needs early childhood program.
