If you’re exhausted and overwhelmed with all the things you need to do with your preschool, you’re not alone. Join us today for some great tricks and tips to get more organized so you can have your time back and spend it with your family.

Being a mother of two teenagers and one toddler is not easy. Ruthie Chant is challenged by the pressures of being both a parent and a business owner. She realized she needed to change something to run her preschool effectively while keeping herself calm and happy. But she also learned that she did not need to reinvent the wheel, a few planning and organizing can do the trick!

    Getting to know Ruthie Chant

Ruthie’s success story all began with a strange dream she did not understand at first. As a newly qualified teacher back then in 2000, she understood the dream only magnified what she was meant to do. Later on, she was able to define it as “Support, Teaching And Reaching Star Kids, Installing Life-Long Skills.”

By 2005, she left teaching as she chose to spend more time with her two children. She used all the precious time creating preschool resources that she used for her own kids! Soon she got a job as a preschool teacher and was able to utilize all those resources.

When she turned 40, a miracle happened to her – she was pregnant with a baby boy! Knowing she needed to spend more time with her family, she had to make new decisions. Now, the miracle baby is three years old and she left her full-time job to start her own preschool at home.

From Preschool Teacher to Preschool Owner

For Ruthie, the biggest struggle of a preschool teacher back then is about executing multiple roles at once. You are not only a teacher, but also a mother and a wife. She loved teaching other people’s children, but she thought about giving time to her own kids.

That’s why opening her own preschool gave her the best of both worlds – continuing her passion for teaching while looking after her own family! But this great privilege came with a new problem to solve – how can she be a mother and run a business flawlessly?

    Organizing Can Change Everything

Systemizing our time is going to play a crucial part in balancing business and motherhood. There is a massive improvement in your productivity if you take time to sit down, plan, and organize everything.

When it comes to organizing, Ruthie loves to do it in one go. This means that instead of planning day by day, she plans according to terms so she won’t have to keep planning every day!

For example, the lessons and activities for two weeks would be laid out in one seating. If you had to spend an entire morning planning ten weeks, do it. It will take the pressure of having to create concepts on a weekly and daily basis. Once it is set up, you’re ready to go each day for the rest of the coming ten weeks!

    Balancing Business and Motherhood

Her biggest tip for running your preschool?

“There’s nothing new under the sun, so don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Go with a proven method and with people who have experience.”

Lucky for her, she has 20 years of experience of her own. All those years taught her how important organizing is, and she hopes you can apply it to yourself, too!

At the end of the day, life is about family. You don’t have to exhaust all your time and mental energy for your business. The goal of organizing is to do less planning and do more playing with your children. Hopefully, this has been helpful to you!
