If you want to learn how to start a preschool while still working your day job, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Sarah Sutton had a degree in elementary ed, but ended up finding her passion in the field of early childhood education. She worked at the YMCA preschool for 8 years and absolutely loved it. But when the pandemic hit and her husband lost his job, she needed to bring in more money for her family. She got an admin job at a Head Start program, but she missed being in the classroom. Listen in to discover how you can start a preschool without quitting your day job.

Sarah loves teaching preschool, but when her husband lost his job, they couldn’t support the whole family on her preschool teacher salary. She got an admin job at a Head Start program that pays the bills, but she missed being in the classroom. That’s when she found Joy. She realized she could create her own classroom and have the best of both worlds!

After getting Joy’s book, Sarah was excited at the prospect of starting her own online preschool. She wanted to be interacting with kids again, but needed a seamless transition from her day job to running her own business without a break in income.

With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Sarah has her online preschool up and running. Being able to copy and paste exact wording for her founding families script gave her the courage to put herself out there. They also helped her set up her first successful fundraiser!

Sarah is starting with a summer program, and had her first few families signed up within a few days. She is excited to grow her online program and now has the chance to bring in extra money, while enjoying her time in her own classroom. This whole journey has built up her confidence and she is so excited to see where it takes her.
